Installation at Artsite, Wellsville, New York, 2003.
Installation: Bronze, moss, wax, forest floor, wood, plastic (4 X 8 X 8 ft).
Five cast bronze moss-covered body parts meld seamlessly with additional “living” body parts sculpted in mosses and forest floor materials. Surrounding mosses stretch out lines of the body to form a landscape of hills and valleys. Enclosed in plastic sheeting, viewers can poke their heads through two ventilation openingsto smell the moss and its scent of elemental life force.
